ROLE DESCRIPTION FOR AREA EDUCATION REPRESENTATIVE
Responsibilities at National Level
- To act as a liaison between National Education committee and our Area, by passing on information relevant to our Teachers from National minutes or other communications received.
- To attend Area Reps days
- To attend, if possible, and help publicise any National courses or initiatives staged by the National Education committee.
- To be aware of availability and developments of courses being organised by NAFAS.
Responsibilities at Area Level
- To give Education a high profile within the Area and encourage our members to see the importance of it for the future of our clubs and NAFAS.
- To encourage members to learn the skills of flower arranging with NAFAS teachers and publicise courses being run by NAFAS
- Maintain records in a coherent fashion so that they can be easily referred to, updated and passed to your successor.
- Maintain a register of attendees at Area Refresher Courses.
- Keep clubs regularly informed (where applicable) of the following:
- Relevant Code of Practice
- The NAFAS recommended mileage rate
- Suggested flower allowance as recommended by the JDS&E Association Committee (and the NAFAS)
- Suggested fees as recommended by the JDS&E Association Committee
- Other information e.g., from NAFAS HQ
- Attend the Council meetings and give a report when necessary and be prepared to answer questions.
- If possible to attend Symposia, Courses, National Tests, Representative’s meetings etc. a brief account should be given to the JDS&E and give a report at the Council Meeting and suitable information provided in the Area Newsletter.
- Maintain a record of all properly constituted complaints lodged against an Area Teacher
- Aim to organize Accredited Refresher Training at intervals of not more than 3 years. In addition, an informal “Get Together” may be organised as required
